Aqua Therapy in Cambridge

Swimming pool water from close-upAt Helios Physiotherapy and Rehab, we believe movement is medicine for life—but for many of our clients who suffer with chronic pain, regaining movement can be especially challenging.

That’s why we offer aqua therapy as part of our comprehensive approach to natural healing solutions.

Why Aqua Therapy?

Buoyancy decreases the weight your bones and joints have to support and dampens the impact of movements, which may allow you to perform exercises in the water that you cannot do on land.

The therapy is done in a warm-water pool, which helps to relax tight or spasming muscles while improving blood flow to the muscles. Aquatic therapy can help improve balance and flexibility while strengthening core muscles.

What to Expect

We’ll begin with a thorough examination. If your provider believes aqua therapy can help you, they’ll explain why and answer all of your questions.

For your therapy appointment, come prepared to be in the water. You’ll need to wear or bring a swimsuit to change into, along with a towel.
